🏉 Hornets 42-47 Camborne
Camborne scored seven tries as they continued their fine start to life at level four with victory at Hornets in a thoroughly entertaining affair in Somerset.
Two early penalties from Dec Simmonds got Camborne off to a good start before Alex Ducker, Chris Heazelton, Tommy-Lee Southworth and Josh Matavesi all crossed the whitewash in the final 15 minutes of the first half to clinch the bonus point and give the visitors a 30-14 lead.
But Hornets roared to life at the start of the second half with Reuben Bachofner-Brown, Callum Lane and Connor Vickery going over to give the home side a five-point advantage.
Camborne dug deep, however, with unconverted tries from Ducker and Matavesi putting the Cherry & Whites five up before Jordan Nicholls scored the all-important match-winning try nine minutes from time, with Kieran Ward crashing over late on to salvage a losing bonus for the hosts.
The result means Camborne remain fifth in the National League 2 West standings.

🏉 Redruth 28-26 Bournville
Jordan Gott scored 23 points as Redruth ran out narrow 28-26 winners over Bournville to clinch their first win since the opening day of the season.
Reds fly-half Gott scored the first of his two tries in the third minute and added the extras to give the hosts an early lead, but converted tries from Jonjo Fanning and Nathan Decalmer swung the match in Bournville’s direction at 7-14 to the visitors.
But Gott repeated his earlier feat by converting his own try to restore parity by the half-hour mark. Ben Meakin then crashed over to nudge back Bournville in front, but fly-half Gott slotted two penalties to give the Reds a single-point lead at the interval.
Right-wing Charlie Levick crossed the whitewash early in the second half to extend Redruth’s lead to six points but they soon found themselves behind thanks to Decalmer’s second of the day, but, fittingly, it was Gott whose successful drop goal in the 62nd minute ultimately secured victory.

🟢 Regional 1 South West
🏉 Launceston 15-20 Okehampton
Launceston’s unbeaten start to the season is over after the Cornish All Blacks suffered a narrow reverse at home to cross-border rivals Okehampton following a dramatic finale at Polson Bridge.
Charlie Tummons crashed over after three minutes to give Launceston the ideal start before Richard Friend’s converted try and a penalty nudged the visitors into a five-point lead, only for CABs to hit back through flanker Lloyd Duke who powered over with Dan Pearce converting.
A penalty for either side took the score to 15-13 at the interval, but the match-winning points arrived early in the second half when Leon Horn crossed for the visitors, with Luke Simmons converting for a 15-20 lead.
Launceston thought they had scored a last-gasp try through prop Charlie Short, but their jubilation was cut short when the referee indicated the ball had been held up to the delight of the Devonians.

🏉 Ivybridge 36-35 St Austell
St Austell’s late comeback was in vain as Saints suffered a gut-wrenching single-point defeat at Ivybridge.
Saints made a flying start with Max Bullen crossing after two minutes before tries from Henry Trudgill and Ben Watts put the hosts in front, only for Jake Clifford’s converted effort to restore the visitors’ advantage at 12-14.
Respective scores from Ivybridge’s Sam Brown and St Austell’s Charles Nicholson moved the score to 19-21 at the break, but a trio of tries from the hosts within the first 15 minutes of the second half put the Devonians in complete control.
But the mid-Cornwall outfit rallied and hit back through Chris Ashwin and Tom Daniel to clinch the try bonus, and while Ashwin made it five out of five with the boot to close the gap to one with seven minutes to play, Saints had to settle for two points.
